Sales and promotions: the impact of the new Consumer Code on online and offline fashion retail

FederModa Milano, the reference Association of the fashion sector of Confcommercio Milano, prompt three guidelines to focus the retailers attention, according to the changes to the Consumer Code and in view of the upcoming summer promotions: 

  • In-store operations, for the preparation of clear and simple sales instructions; 
  • The online presence, with the adaptation of the interface and product details; 
  • The back-end, to make changes at the contractual and information level in a harmonized way, aiming to an integration of the various sales channels. 

The transposition of the European Omnibus directive requires a further effort in terms of ever greater transparency in sales relationships and in communications with customers. We will address the topic in a transversal and pragmatic way with entrepreneurs, managers, IT and Legal to provide a clear overview and assured indications on what to do in the near future.
